Coleg Sir Gâr’s Automotive Engineering Centre is helping Halfords implement national training standards within their workforce by providing training facilities at the college’s Pibwrlwyd campus.
Halfords are running a three-day course for their staff which offers an ATA award and has been developed by the company working to specification and accreditation from IMI.
The course requires an automotive and controlled environment with conditions suitable for examination using practice vehicles.
Twelve staff members from South Wales and Bristol are training at the facility under the guidance of Halford’s field trainers, Raj Thakral and Ian Jones.
John Morrissey, assistant curriculum head who leads the college’s automotive centre, said: “We’re delighted to be able to assist Halfords with their experience-based training to help national competency levels within their workforce.”
