Carmarthen School of Art at Coleg Sir Gâr is showcasing student work from its foundation diploma, access to higher education and the fashion course at the art school.

The scale of the exhibition is significant and fills exhibition areas which recently housed the degree show.

The Further Education Show is an annual event which gives students the opportunity of showcasing their end of year work, and is a ‘must see’ for those who are leaving school and considering a career in art and design, or who are wanting to return to education to acquire new skills.

All three programmes give students the opportunity to develop skills and understanding in preparation for continuing their studies on a degree programme, or preparing them for employment.

The WJEC foundation Diploma in Art and Design is a post A-level programme where students study a broad range of art and design disciplines, enabling them to identify and select a particular specialist area to study at university or employment.  Whilst the fashion course offers post GCSE students preparation onto a related degree or employment where they learn about design, construction and styling.

The Access to Higher Education course offer people a second chance into education and nurtures a diverse range of age groups and learners to develop their creative and technical skills with many students progressing onto degrees.

The public exhibition is taking place at Carmarthen School of Art’s Job’s Well Campus in Carmarthen from June 11 to 15.  The private view is on Friday, June 10 at 7pm, which is open to the public.
