A fashion student at Coleg Sir Gâr has won a silver medal at a UK national final for her skills in visual merchandising.
Elizabeth Hanley, 17, a former Ysgol y Preseli student is in the second year of a fashion and clothing extended diploma which she studies in Carmarthen. Her journey to compete and gain a silver medal at the Skills Show in Birmingham started in a local Skills Competition Wales event where she won first prize. Elizabeth, who is from Haverfordwest, then progressed to the WorldSkills semi-final which was held at London College of Fashion where she created a window display working to a geometric theme.
Jamie Hawkins, head of fashion at Coleg Sir Gâr said: “Following her success at the Skills Show, Ellie will be receiving training from WorldSkills UK as she’s in the running to compete to represent the UK at the WorldSkills competition in Russia next year.”
