An artist and lecturer at Coleg Sir Gâr’s Carmarthen School of Art has been selected to exhibit her work at Mall Galleries, London.
Mandy Lane’s artwork has been selected by the Society of Women Artists to display at their annual open exhibition amongst 140 professional artists in an eclectic exhibition of work which provokes debate and promotes diversity.
The artist, who is a member of Sculpture Cymru, has exhibited all over the UK and in Ireland and has currently completed her MA in contemporary dialogues with a distinction.
Her current work explores the complex inter-relationships between the female gender and the world; examining female-ness and femininity as subjected by the male gaze in both a wider-world context, and within the domestic sphere.
Mandy Lane said: "I am so very proud to have one of my pieces selected for the SWA exhibition. It is a very exciting opportunity to exhibit with such talented female artists."
The exhibition takes place at Mall Galleries from Thursday July 28 until August 7.
